Nanotechnology Project

Analysts indicate that nanotechnology coupled with the principles and practices of green chemistry will have a significant impact on the environment. Possibilities include the advancement of clean technologies that use nanotechnologies, the minimization of the potential environmental and human health risks associated with the manufacture and use of nanotechnology products, and the replacement of existing products with new nano products that are more environmentally friendly. Industry participants however indicate that beyond providing funding and establishing infrastructure to promote the development of green nanotechnology, research-industry collaborations will be necessary to harness the resources required to accelerate the development of this technology. This project seeks to understand the development of research-industry collaborations to enable the establishment of the green nanotechnology industry.
